Fees
| Service | Outside the UK | Inside the UK |
|---|---|---|
| Priority service | £500 | £500 |
| Super priority service | £1,000 | £1,000 |
These amounts are listed in the Home Office fees table and are paid in addition to the application fee.
How fast a decision usually comes
- Priority service: usually a decision within 5 working days for most visa applications. Settlement and citizenship applications usually take 30 working days, and so do family visa applications made from outside the UK.
- Super priority service: usually a decision by the end of the next working day for visa and settlement applications. It cannot be used for citizenship applications.
The clock starts on the day of your identity appointment, or the working day after you finish uploading documents in the UK Immigration: ID Check app. Appointments at weekends or on bank holidays give a decision 2 working days later under the super priority service.
Family members
Each family member who applies with you pays the same extra amount, £500 or £1,000, and everyone gets a decision at the same time. A decision can take longer if a family member has to give fingerprints and a photograph in person.
Eligibility
Whether a faster decision is offered depends on the application and on how you prove your identity. Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker applications made from inside the UK are eligible for both services with either way of proving identity. Other routes differ, and the page on how to get a faster decision has the tables. You see whether a faster decision is available when you apply.
If a decision takes longer than the target, for example because the Home Office needs more information, the fee is not usually refunded.
